Hot Jazz, Big Band Swing, Cabaret & Dance

For over 15 years, Tony presented and hosted more than 30 sell-out Music Festivals at South Downs Holiday Village near Chichester.

They featured the Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra, the Tony Jacobs-Sue Greenway Big Band, the Jim Barry Quintet, the Swing Time Jivers, the Pasadena Roof Orchestra, Mazaika, Eleanor Keenan, Catherine Sykes, Louise Cookman, Elaine Delmar, the Brian Dee Trio, Steve Rushton’s Tribute to Gene Krupa and Anita O’Day, the London Hot Rhythm Boys,  Neville Dickie’s Rhythmakers, the Bateman Brothers, Bob Kerr’s Whoopee Band, Keith Nicholls,  the late, greats Dave Shepherd and Ronnie Verrell, Roger Nobes, the Jay Craig Orchestra, Neil Bullock, Paul Morgan and many other world-class guests and musicians.

People have regularly travelled from all over the UK – and even Sark and Luxembourg! – to enjoy and indulge in some of the best music around and many have become great friends.

2017 saw Warner’s Thorseby Hall and Gunton Hall continuing the Tony Jacobs Music Experience and negotiations are underway with other UK venues so please watch this space for future developments. Thorsby HallAt Warner’s magnificent Thorseby Hall Hotel in Nottinghamshire, Tony’s four day Music Festival on May 15th,16th,17th,18th 2017  SOLD OUT with around 400 guests! The following May Festival also sold out and, at the time of writing (November 2018), next May’s event at Thorseby Hall  has only 20 rooms left! Not surprising when the line-up includes the astonishing Sue Greenway-Tony Jacobs 17 piece Big Band; the Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra; the Swing Time Jivers; from New York City, dancers Heather Gehring and Lou Brockman (back by public demand); the Jim Barry Quintet; Catherine Sykes and Louise Cookman. PLUS daytime events.

At Warner’s Gunton Hall  in Suffolk on November 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th, 2017, Tony presented ‘SWING THAT MUSIC’ featuring ‘A SWELL PARTY’ with the Jim Barry Quintet, ‘SHAKE THAT THING’ with the Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra and the Swing Time Jivers, a STRICT-TEMPO DANCE EVENING, Daytime Cabaret , ‘SWING SPECIAL’ with the Tony Jacobs-Sue Greenway 17 piece Big Band and much more. During this sold out event, the number of re-bookings for November 2018 at the same venue was described as ‘phenomenal’! 2018 was also a sell-out and the Festival at Gunton Hall next November 2019 has already sold over a third of its rooms.

In 2018, Tony presented a Swinging Valentine’s Festival at Eastbourne’s Cavendish Hotel. This  event featured the Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra,  the Jim Barry Quintet, Louise Cookman, Catherine Sykes, the wonderful Elaine Delmar, daytime cabaret and the world premier of ‘Now You Has Bing & Louis!’ – a celebration of the music of Bing Crosby and Louis Armstrong – with Ian Bateman’s Jazz Band, Tony Jacobs and Enrico Tomasso.

At Warner’s Cricket St Thomas  on August 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th,  Tony presented two evenings with the Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra (one with the Swing Time Jivers and SHAKE THAT THING! The Great British Swing Dance Show, the Sue Greenway-Tony Jacobs Big Band, the Jim Barry Quintet, Louise  Cookman and more! Another sell-out! Tony and his friends have been invited back in August 2019 (12th, 13th, 14th, 15th) Rooms are selling fast!

Tony and friends present ‘Twixmas in Southsea’ at the Royal Beach Hotel (December 27/28/29 2018) featuring the Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra; the Sinatra Years with Tony & the Jim Barry Quintet; Louise Cookman’s celebration of the Jazz Divas  and daytime cabaret with Tony & Jim.
