Hot Jazz, Big Band Swing, Cabaret & Dance

For over 15 years, Tony  has presented and hosted more than 30 sell-out Music Festivals at South Downs Holiday Village near Chichester.

These have featured the Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra, the Tony Jacobs-Sue Greenway Big Band, the Jim Barry Quintet, the Swing Time Jivers, the Pasadena Roof Orchestra, Mazaika, Eleanor Keenan, Catherine Sykes, Louise Cookman, Elaine Delmar, the Brian Dee Trio, Steve Rushton’s Tribute to Gene Krupa and Anita O’Day, the London Hot Rhythm Boys,  Neville Dickie’s Rhythmakers, the Bateman Brothers, Bob Kerr’s Whoopee Band, Keith Nicholls,  the late, greats Dave Shepherd and Ronnie Verrell, Roger Nobes, the Jay Craig Orchestra, Neil Bullock, Paul Morgan and many other world-class guests and musicians.

People have regularly travelled from all over the UK – and even Sark and Luxembourg! – to enjoy and indulge in some of the best music around and many have become great friends.

2017 sees Warner’s Thorseby Hall and Gunton Hall continuing the Tony Jacobs Music Experience! Negotiations are underway with other UK venues so please watch this space for future developments. Thorsby HallAt Warner’s magnificent Thorseby Hall Hotel in Nottinghamshire, Tony’s four day Music Festival on May 15th,16th,17th,18th 2017  SOLD OUT with around 400 guests! The line-up included the Bateman Brothers’ Ultimate Louis Armstrong Show – with guests Enrico Tomasso and ‘Spats’ Langham, the Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra, the Tony Jacobs-Sue Greenway Big Band, the American and British Songbook Show, the Swing Time Jivers and daytime events which  included a tea-dance, a dance workshop and cabaret show. Tony returns to Thoresby Hall in May 2018 with a spectacular line-up. This has already nearly sold out with a handful of rooms available at the time of writing!

At Basingstoke’s Country Hotel on July 14th, 15th and 16th, Tony’s Summer Weekend of Big Band, Hot Jazz and Swing featured the Temperance Seven; The Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra (with dancers Maxine and Russell); A Swell Party with the Jim Barry Quintet, Tony & Louise Cookman; daytime cabaret with Tony & Jim and Gipsy Jazz, Russian Folk Songs and a touch of Mario Lanza from the amazing Mazaika. At Warner’s Gunton Hall  in Suffolk on November 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th, 2017, Tony presented ‘SWING THAT MUSIC’ featuring ‘A SWELL PARTY’ with the Jim Barry Quintet, ‘SHAKE THAT THING’ with the Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra and the Swing Time Jivers, a STRICT-TEMPO DANCE EVENING, Daytime Cabaret , ‘SWING SPECIAL’ with the Tony Jacobs-Sue Greenway 17 piece Big Band and much more. During the event, the number of re-bookings for November 2018 at the same venue was described as ‘phenomenal’!

‘Twixmas in Bournemouth’ at the Royal Bath Hotel (December 27th/28th/29th) features the Tony Jacobs-Sue Greenway Big Band with guest vocalist Eleanor Keenan; Neville Dickie and His Rhythmakers; the Jim Barry Quintet with Tony & Louise Cookman; a tea-dance with Eleanor and her musicians;  and daytime cabaret with Tony & Jim. Bookings through Isle Of Wight Tours.

In 2018, Tony will be presenting Swinging Valentine’s Festival at Eastbourne’s Cavendish Hotel (February 13th/14th/15th/16th ) – booking exclusively though Isle Of Wight Tours. This four day event features the Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra,  the Jim Barry Quintet, Louise Cookman, Catherine Sykes, the wonderful Elaine Delmar and her musicians, daytime cabaret and the world premier of ‘Now You Has Jazz’ – a celebration of the music of Bing Crosby and Louis Armstrong – with Ian Bateman’s Jazz Band, Tony Jacobs and Enrico Tomasso.

Tony returns to Warner’s Thoresby Hall. (May 14th/15th/16th/17th) and Warner’s Gunton Hall (November 5th/6th/7th/8th). He will also be at Warner’s Cricket St Thomas  on August 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th.
